Flue systems for gas fires
The photo on the left is a class 1 brick built chimney with a 125mm class 2 flexible flue liner fitted, only gas fires suitable for class 2 flues may be fitted into this type of flue.
The photo on the right is a good example of a twin wall metal flue system this example is part of a pre-cast flue system but pre-fabricated flues may employ the same twin-wall system which would connect to a metal flue box in a false chimney breast.
Balanced and Fan Flue Terminations
The photo on the right is a fan flued gas fire terminal as with the balanced flue is installed through an external wall subject to external clearances but a 240V supply is required to power the fan.The photo on the left shows a balanced flue terminal this type of flue system is supplied with the appliance Ideal when your property does not have an existing flue the flue is installed through an external wall subject to external clearances.
